Compare X ("we", "our", "the app") is operated by AKA Noodles Ltd. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information we collect

• Product data: Barcodes, product names, and photos you scan or upload. These are used solely to identify products and run comparisons.
• Comparison history: Your past comparison results are stored so you can revisit them.
• Anonymous account: We create an anonymous session to store your data. We do not collect your name, email, or other personal identifiers unless you choose to provide them.
• Device information: Basic analytics (app version, device type, crash reports) to improve the app. No advertising identifiers are collected.

2. How we use your information

• To identify products and provide ingredient comparisons
• To save your comparison history
• To improve product recognition accuracy (anonymised, aggregated data only)
• To fix bugs and improve app performance

3. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on Supabase servers in the EU (europe-west region). All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.

4. Third-party services

• Supabase: Database and authentication (EU-hosted)
• Open Food Facts: Product identification (open-source database)
• Google ML Kit: On-device text recognition (data never leaves your device)

5. Your rights

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:

• Access your data
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a portable format

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile screen in the app.

6. Children's privacy

Compare X is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with data, please contact us.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.
